PREVOSAN®

A significant route for the transmission of diseases is via surfaces, on which many germs have an astonishingly long survival time. To combat this so-called smear infection, you can equip surfaces so that germs are infectious for a significantly shorter time.

Frequently frequented contact surfaces in public areas - such as store counters, displays, handrails, etc. - can be made permanently hygienic using a self-adhesive film with the PREVOSAN® technology developed by us.

We have test certificates from the Federal Institute for Materials Research (BAM) and the British testing institute "Industrial Microbiological Services Limited" (IMSL), which provide excellent proof of the effectiveness of PREVOSAN®.

Effect against Bacteria

BAM tested the effectiveness of this technology against the gram-negative model bacterium Escherichia coli in accordance with ISO22196:2011.

The result: after one hour, the number of bacteria had decreased by 99.96% compared to an untreated reference surface.

Effect against viruses

The IMSL tested the PREVOSAN technology with the Phi6 bacteriophage, which has a similar structure to coronaviruses.

The method described in OECD Guidance Document ENV/JM/MONO(2018)20 was used here. This is a practice-relevant further development of ISO 21702:2019, which is used to determine the biocidal efficacy of certain surfaces against viruses.

After two hours, the number of model bacteriophages had decreased by 99.4 % compared to the untreated reference surface.
